Usage & Directions
Take 10 ml daily, neat or in liquid (e.g. juice or water). Optimal temperature between +2 and +21 °C – briefly the product also withstands more extreme temperatures. After opening, store in the fridge and use within 6 weeks. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced, varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of young children.

10 ml provide 400 mg reduced glutathione and 700 mg vitamin C. One 250 ml bottle lasts for 25 daily doses. You can take liposomal glutathione neat or stir it into water or juice; the time of day is up to you. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.

What is liposomal glutathione?
Liposomal glutathione is glutathione packed into liposomes. Liposomes are microscopically small vesicles made of phospholipids – the same building blocks that make up the membranes of your body's cells. This shell protects the glutathione on its way through the stomach and gut.
Conventional oral glutathione is considered poorly bioavailable: a large part of it is broken down in the digestive tract before it reaches the blood. This is exactly where the liposomal form comes in. More about liposomes →
Liposomal glutathione vs. conventional glutathione: the difference
The difference lies in bioavailability – the share that actually reaches the blood. We had this measured in a randomised study with 20 healthy participants. One group received 500 mg liposomal glutathione from ActiNovo daily for seven days, the other 500 mg standard glutathione. Reduced glutathione in the blood was measured at the start, on day 3 and on day 7.
The result: with liposomal glutathione from ActiNovo, glutathione levels in the blood rose clearly by day 3 and further by day 7, while the comparison group showed no measurable increase. Ingredients of liposomal glutathione 400: what's inside and why
- Reduced L-glutathione: 400 mg per daily dose, in the reduced form in which glutathione is also present in the body.
- Phospholipids from sunflowers (1300 mg per daily dose): form the liposomes in which the glutathione is packed. They are sourced from the EU.
- Sodium L-ascorbate: provides 700 mg vitamin C per daily dose and stabilises the glutathione in its reduced form.
- Water, glycerol, sea buckthorn extract, malic acid and rosemary extract: water and glycerol as the carrier liquid, sea buckthorn as a plant-based addition, malic acid as an acidifier, rosemary extract as an antioxidant.
The product is vegan and contains no added flavourings.

Frequently asked questions about liposomal glutathione
Liquid liposomal glutathione or capsules: what is the difference?
Liposomes are tiny vesicles made of phospholipids that are stable in liquid. That is why we offer liposomal glutathione as a liquid. In our comparative study with 20 participants, ActiNovo's liquid liposomal glutathione was 64 times more bioavailable over seven days than a standard glutathione product.
How much glutathione per day makes sense?
The recommended intake is 10 ml per day. That is about 2 teaspoons and 400 mg reduced glutathione plus 700 mg vitamin C. One 250 ml bottle lasts 25 days. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Should I take glutathione in the morning or in the evening?
The time of day is up to you. You can take the 10 ml neat or stir them into water or juice. In our study, participants took the glutathione in the morning on an empty stomach.
Why does liposomal glutathione smell of sulphur?
The glutathione molecule naturally contains sulphur, which has a smell and taste of its own. This is completely normal and does not mean the product has gone off.
What does reduced glutathione mean?
Glutathione exists in two forms: reduced and oxidised. The reduced form is the one in which glutathione is mostly present in the body. Our product contains 400 mg reduced L-glutathione per daily dose; the vitamin C it contains stabilises it in this form.
Glutathione and skin: what are we allowed to say?
We are not allowed to make statements about the effect of glutathione on the skin, because no health claim is authorised for this in the EU. What we are allowed to say: the vitamin C in the product contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin.
Is liposomal glutathione suitable for children?
Yes, our liposomal glutathione is also suitable for children, but at a reduced dose: 2.5 ml per day for children aged 1 to 4, 5 ml for ages 5 to 8 and 7.5 ml for ages 9 to 12. For children aged 4 and over there is also our dedicated All-in-One for kids.
Does liposomal glutathione have side effects, and who should not take it?
Our liposomal glutathione is designed to be well tolerated. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a medical condition or take medication regularly, talk to your doctor before taking it.
How long does liposomal glutathione keep after opening?
After opening, keep the bottle in the fridge and use it up within 6 weeks. Unopened, it is best stored between +2 and +21 °C.
