Usage & Directions
Dosage and intake of liposomal vitamin D3 + K2
5 ml per day provide 25 µg vitamin D3 (1000 IU) and 75 µg vitamin K2. This is the recommended daily amount. Alternatively, you can take 10 ml every other day; that corresponds to the same amount. You can take the product neat or stir it into water or juice. Do not exceed the recommended intake.

How does it work?
LIPOSOMAL explained in 3 steps.
- 1EncapsulationOur LipoSone® technology packs the active into tiny, spherical liposomes made of phospholipids.
- 2ProtectionThe liposomes envelop the active and protect it from stomach acid and digestive enzymes.
- 3AbsorptionThis way it reaches the bloodstream far more efficiently – for higher bioavailability.
What is liposomal vitamin D3 + K2?
Liposomal vitamin D3 + K2 contains the vitamins D3 and K2 packed into liposomes. Liposomes are microscopically small vesicles made of phospholipids – the same building blocks that make up the membranes of your body's cells. This shell protects the vitamins on their way through the stomach and gut.
Vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 are fat-soluble. The body therefore absorbs them only to a limited extent from conventional tablets, and absorption depends on whether fat is present. This is exactly where the liposomal form comes in. More about liposomes →
Liposomal vitamin D vs. conventional vitamin D: the difference
The difference lies in bioavailability – the share that actually reaches the blood. We had this measured in a randomised study with 20 healthy participants. One group received a single dose of 1000 IU vitamin D3 and 200 µg vitamin K2 as a liposomal product from ActiNovo, the other the same amount as a standard product. Blood values were measured at the start and after 2, 4 and 6 hours.
The result: liposomal vitamin D3 from ActiNovo was 12.84 times more bioavailable than the standard product. The difference was seen at all three measurement points. View the vitamin D3 study →

Good to know
At ActiNovo we are fascinated by the potential of natural actives as much as by modern technology. So we combine both into highly effective liposomal supplements – without unnecessary additives.
Effects of vitamin D3 and K2: what is proven
Many effects are attributed to vitamin D and vitamin K, and our customers take them for very different reasons. However, what we as a manufacturer are allowed to say about it is strictly regulated in the EU. Here is what we are allowed to tell you. Vitamin D contributes:
- to the maintenance of normal bones
- to the maintenance of normal muscle function
- to the normal function of the immune system
- to the maintenance of normal teeth
- to normal blood calcium levels
- to normal absorption/utilisation of calcium and phosphorus
Vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and to normal blood clotting.

Frequently asked questions about liposomal vitamin D3 + K2
Liquid liposomal vitamin D or capsules: what is the difference?
Liposomes are tiny vesicles made of phospholipids that are stable in liquid. That is why we offer liposomal vitamin D3 + K2 as a liquid. In our comparative study with 20 participants, ActiNovo's liposomal vitamin D3 was 12.84 times more bioavailable than a standard product.
How do I take liposomal vitamin D3 + K2?
5 ml per day, neat or stirred into water or juice; that is about 1 teaspoon. Alternatively, you can take 10 ml every other day.
How many IU of vitamin D3 does it contain?
5 ml contain 25 µg vitamin D3, which is 1000 IU. This is the recommended daily amount.
Why is vitamin D3 combined with vitamin K2?
Both vitamins contribute to the maintenance of normal bones. Vitamin D also contributes to normal absorption/utilisation of calcium, vitamin K to normal blood clotting.
Which form of vitamin K2 does it contain?
Menaquinone MK7, MK7 for short.
Can I combine the product with other vitamin D products?
Keep an eye on the total amount. The European Food Safety Authority EFSA sets 100 µg vitamin D per day as the upper limit for total intake for adults. Our liposomal multivitamin, for example, already contains 25 µg vitamin D3 per daily dose.
Is liposomal vitamin D3 + K2 suitable for children?
Yes, but at a reduced dose: children get part of the adult serving of 5 ml: 1.25 ml per day for children aged 1 to 4, 2.5 ml for ages 5 to 8 and 3.75 ml for ages 9 to 12. If your child is already given vitamin D, agree the total amount with your paediatrician. For children aged 4 and over there is also our dedicated All-in-One for kids.
Who should not take vitamin D3 + K2?
If you take anticoagulants (blood thinners), be sure to consult a doctor before taking it because of the vitamin K it contains. The same applies if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have kidney disease or take other medication.
How long does liposomal vitamin D3 + K2 keep after opening?
After opening, keep the bottle in the fridge and use it up within 6 weeks. Unopened, it is best stored between +2 and +21 °C.
